About the Project
The project with Ventana Home Finder involved developing an advanced real estate platform designed to surpass the capabilities of major players like Zillow. The platform integrated multiple MLS systems, enabling users to search for homes based on criteria such as school quality and neighborhood safety. The objective was to provide users with comprehensive insights into potential living areas and practical tools, such as a rent-versus-own calculator, to support informed decision-making.
The Challenge
Integrating with MLS listings presented several challenges:
- Controlled Access: MLS data is tightly regulated, complicating seamless integration without causing data duplications or outdated listings.
- API Limitations: Many MLS systems lack APIs that pull only new or updated data, leading to potential inaccuracies.

We integrated the MLS listings using a database on AWS, with AngularJS for the frontend and Node.js for the backend.
